Avondale College
We were contacted by the builder for this project with an enquiry to machine salvaged Rimu into three different widths. The project's architect had specified Rimu with a character finish to soften the look and provide texture to the concrete slab and steel walkways connecting various portions of this school building. Using timber salvaged from demolition projects the three different profiles were able tobe machined with enough quantity for spare stock. Installed over a black cloth material the finish is both striking and complimentary to the structure covering it. The overall project was the recipient of a New Zealand Architect award.
